30.05.2012 French Open: Lukasz Tops Frenchman in 2nd RD

Lukasz defeated Frenchman Florent Serra 7-6(7), 6-2, 7-6(4) to reach the third round of the French Open on Wednesday.

In the first set Lukasz was a break up twice, but his opponent came back on both occasions to force a tie-break, in which Lukasz demolished Serra, winning 7-0.

From 2-all in the second set, the Pole reeled off seven straight games to win the second set 6-2 and take a 3-0 lead in the third.

When everything seemed under control, Serra came back to level at 3-all. He later grabbed a break for a 5-4 lead but failed to close out the set in the tenth game. The set ended in a tie-break, in which, once again, Lukasz came on top, taking it 7-4, despite being 0-3 down.

It was the fifth meeting between the two and now Lukasz leads the series 3-2.

Thanks to his third-round showing, Lukasz can now be sure of qualifying to this year's Olympics, one of his greatest dreams.

For a place in the fourth round, he will square off against either David Goffin or Arnaud Clement.

Gratuluję! Super mecz. Skróty - zabójcze. Tylko tak dalej! Będę trzymał kciuki w meczu z Goffinem.
