14.06.2016 Lukasz/Peya save 4 MPs, reach Halle quarters

No.2 seeds Lukasz and Alexander Peya rallied from a set down and saved four match points in the second set in a 4-6, 7-6 (12), 10-7 victory over Dominik Thiem and Philipp Kohlschreiber at the Gerry Weber Open on Tuesday. The Polish/Austrian duo lost the opening set surrendering the only game during the one hour, 36-minute clash. They fended off four match points in the second set tie-break and went on to win the match tie-breaker 10-7 after being 2-5 down.

 

Stats: aces (0-4), double faults (4-1), total points won (84-78).

 

Lukasz and Alexander will face either Andreas Seppi (ITA)/Joao Sousa (POR) or Brian Baker (USA)/Denis Istomin (UZB) in the ATP 500 event quarter-finals.
