31.05.2010 Lukasz&Oli battle through

Sixth seeds Lukasz and Oliver Marach booked their place in the quarter-finals of the French Open with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Stephen Huss of Australia and Andre Sa of Brazil. The match lasted one hour and 43 minutes.

Lukasz and Oliver deserved this victory – they served more accurately than their opponents, winning 65 percent of points on their first serve and 60 percent on their second. Moreover, they converted five of ten break point opportunities in the match overall, compared to their opponents’ three of six.

One of the most interesting moments came in the second set. Lukasz and Oliver were broken when serving for the set at 5-4. In the next game, however, they managed to break back and served for the match for the second time. They held to love and could raise their fists in triumph.

With this win, Lukasz and Oliver improved to 22-10 on the season.

In the quarter-finals, the Polish-Austrian pairing will have a chance to avenge the loss they suffered in Madrid two weeks ago as they face second seeds Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic.
